VESSEL, BUILT 1943 BY BETHLEHEM FAIRFIELD SHIPYARD. ON PASSAGE FROM BALTIMORE & NEW YORK TO CASABLANCA. WAS ATTACKED BY GERMAN SUBMARINE U-167, DAMAGED AND SUNK BY A COUP DE GRACE FROM U-521 IN 8 MIN. CREW OF 70, FOUR KILLED. (WW2SL, AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES, DODS & LIBERTY SHIPS).
