Simplified Wreck Survey

The Liberian wreck was a historical maritime obstruction located off the coast of Cape Palmas near the border of Liberia and Ivory Coast at coordinates 4 21.75 N, 7 43.95 W. Originally reported as a grounded vessel on Three Foot Rock in 1967, the site was initially marked by a buoy for navigational safety. Subsequent hydrographic surveys and aerial photography conducted in 1990 failed to locate any visible remains of the stranded steel vessel. Consequently, the obstruction was officially deleted from nautical charts in 1991 under NM 54/91. While historical records referred to a potential wreckage, modern assessments confirm the site is clear, and the Liberian wreck no longer poses a hazard to navigation at these coordinates.
