Simplified Wreck Survey

The Leander is a historic yacht shipwreck located at coordinates 12 1.5 N, 61 46.75 W in the Caribbean Sea. Initially surveyed for salvage in 1954 after sinking, the wreck was later reported in 1959 lying upturned and dismasted in eight fathoms of water southwest of a reef, posing no danger to vessels using the inshore channel. Designated as a non-dangerous wreck with position approximate in 1993, a subsequent multibeam survey conducted by the UK Hydrographic Office in September 2016 failed to locate the remains, leading to the wreck being officially classified as dead or removed from active charting.
