Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck LANARK is located in the Celtic Sea at coordinates 48 00.000N, 08 21.000W. Historical records indicate the vessel was scuttled on June 24, 1969, at this position. Later reports from November 1946 suggest the LANARK was under tow when it sank at an unknown location, leading to its classification as Non-Dangerous Wreck (NDW) Position Approximate (PA) on nautical charts. Due to the significant depth of the site, the wreck remains unchartered for navigational purposes. As an underwater obstruction, the remains are currently considered too deep to present a surface hazard.
