Simplified Wreck Survey

The underwater wreck of the vessel J. Moreira is located at coordinates 34 38.35 S, 58 21.3 W in the Rio de la Plata estuary near the coast of Argentina. Historical hydrographic survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office indicate that the obstruction was originally reported and charted following Argentine surveys. Further official hydrographic assessments conducted in March 1972 involved positional updates for the site. Subsequent maritime notices in November 1981 confirmed that the vessel was successfully refloated and the wreck was officially deleted from active navigation hazard charts, with the status amended accordingly.
