Simplified Wreck Survey
The historic shipwreck Iona I is located in the Firth of Clyde near Fort Matilda, Scotland, at coordinates 55 58.076 N, 4 47.194 W. This paddle steamer sank in 1863 following a collision and currently rests on a sand and mud seabed. The wreck is approximately 25 meters long and features a discernible central paddlewheel arrangement, with a smaller secondary section located 10 meters to the northeast. The wreck site is designated as an historic wreck protected by a 90-meter radius exclusion zone centered on the provided coordinates. Hydrographic surveys indicate the structure lies in general depths of 26.5 meters with a least depth of 22.8 meters.
