The shipwreck of the IMGARD is located at coordinates 48 20.943 N, 4 33.028 W off the coast of France in the Atlantic waters of the Bay of Biscay near the English Channel approach. Historical hydrographic surveys from the UK Hydrographic Office and French records trace the site history from initial discovery as a submerged wreck with a 22-meter least depth to updated positioning and least depth measurements of 21.2 meters to 24 meters using modern echosounder surveys. The structural description confirms the wreck stands 3.4 meters high with a collapsed superstructure resting in a general surrounding depth of 25 meters.
