28.8.41 EX-U-570. CAPTURED 28.8.41 BY HMS BURWELL & HMT NORTHERN CHIEF IN N ATLANTIC AFTER BEING DEPTH CHARGED BY RAF AIRCRAFT OF 269 SQDN ON THE PREVIOUS DAY. REFITTED IN BARROW, EMERGING AS HMSM GRAPH. AFTER COLLISION WITH DOCKYARD WALL IN CHATHAM WAS TOWED TO CLYDE FOR USE AS DEPTH CHARGE TARGET. STRIPPED OF ALL INTERNAL FITTINGS AND TOWED BY TUG 'EMPIRE JOHN'. BROKE TOW AT 0410 ON 18.3.44 IN 50MPH WINDS. DRIFTED ASHORE. SCRAPPED IN SITU.
