Simplified Wreck Survey
HMS TUGELA is an underwater shipwreck located off the coast of East Anglia in the North Sea at coordinates 52 25.788 N, 1 47.518 E. Originally reported sunk in 1916 and initially marked as dead or dispersed following historical hydrographic surveys, the wreck was rediscovered and examined in December 2016. Modern multibeam sonar data records the least depth over the wreck at 23.82 meters within a general seabed depth of 24 meters. The structural dimensions of the wreck measure 39.7 meters in length, 15.3 meters in width, and 1.2 meters in height, with an orientation of 020/200 degrees. Additionally, a surrounding seabed scour measures 63.3 meters long, 15.3 meters wide, and 1.1 meters deep, trending towards 170 degrees.
