Circumstances of loss
4.2.40 BUILT IN 1939 IN HAMILTON. TWO BOILERS, TS TURBINES OF 1750HP, TWIN SHAFT. 1 X 4 INCH QF, 1 X 4 INCH DF GUN. A 'HALCYON' CLASS VESSEL. THESE WERE SOME OF THE FIRST ALL WELDED SHIPS IN THE RN. CAPSIZED IN HEAVY WEATHER AFTER BEING DAMAGED IN ACTION WITH ENEMY AIRCRAFT ON NIGHT OF 3-4.2.40. (WW2SL).
