VESSEL, BUILT 1943 AT TORONTO. [ORIGINALLY LAID DOWN AS 'LONGBRANCH' BUT RE-NAMED IN LATE 1943 AS REGULUS]. AN ALGERINE CLASS MINESWEEPER. 2000HP FOR 16.5 KNOTS. ONE 4 INCH AA & FOUR 22MM GUNS. MINED OFF SISTA ISLAND, S CORFU CHANNEL. HER PROPELLORS WERE APPARENTLY BLOWN OFF & WAS TAKEN IN TOW BUT SANK 46 MINUTES AFTER EXPLOSION. VESSELS NORMAL COMPLEMENT 100. (DODS).
