BUILT 1940, BY BLYTH SHIPBUILDING CO. AS A 'BANGOR' CLASS MINESWEEPER, MINED IN THE WESTERN APPROACHES OF STRAIT OF BONIFACIO, N SARDINIA. FIVE OFFICERS AND 15 RATINGS WERE KILLED, 62 SURVIVORS RESCUED. (DODS, SRN, BVLAS 1939-45, WARSHIP LOSSES WWII).
