Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Hinrich Hey is an underwater obstruction located at coordinates 48 45.644 N, 2 1.819 W off the coast of France. This submerged wreck lies on a seabed of sand at a least echo sounder depth of 17.7 meters. The vessel has a total length of 55 meters and is broken into two distinct parts. The forward section lies on its starboard side in an east-west orientation, while the aft section lies oriented along a 135 to 315-degree heading on its port side. The larger section measures 43 meters in length with a height of 7 meters. Originally reported with dangerous cargo, the position of this underwater wreck was last updated using DGPS in 2002 and verified by French wreck records.

BUILT IN HAMBURG IN 1934. STRENGTHENED FOR ICE OPERATIONS. CONVERTED INTO ARMED PATROL VESSEL BY THE ADDITION OF 1 X 88MM AND 1 X 20MM GUN. RENUMBERED V210. BASED AT ST MALO WITH THE 2ND PATROL BOAT SQUADRON. PASSAGE JERSEY FOR ST MALO ESCORTING SMALL CONVOY WHEN ATTACKED BY FIVE MTBS OF THE 65TH CANADIAN FLOTILLA.
