(AUTHORITY NOT STATED) H3542/68 10.10.68 LOCATED IN 520757N, 044151W. HIGHEST PART OF SHIP IS THE BOW WHICH IS STILL STANDING 20FT ABOVE SEABED. 2 BOILERS ARE ABOUT 18FT HIGH & BULK OF MACHINERY IS ABOUT 17FT HIGH. REST OF WRECKAGE VARIES BETWEEN 6 TO 7FT. WK SEEMS TO HAVE STOOD UP WELL TO THE SWELL IN AREA AND TO SALVAGE OPERATIONS BY PRESENT OWNERS. A LARGE PART OF THE HULL, BOWS TO MIDSHIPS, PRESENTS AN OUTLINE COMPLETE UP TO A HEIGHT OF ABOUT 7FT AT LEAST. WK NOT LIKELY TO REMAIN IN PRESENT SHAPE MUCH LONGER OWING TO CORROSION & BREAKING DOWN & SCATTERING OF METAL BY THE SEA. (MR R. EDMUND, SUB-AQUA CLUB REPORT 7.10.68) - NCA, NC 1972 STS.
