8.6.82 BUILT IN 1971 BY HITACHI ZOSEN, SAKAI. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY UNITED CARRIERS. PASSAGE ST CROIX, US VIRGIN ISLANDS FOR VALDEZ, ALASKA. DAMAGED BY AIR ATTACK FROM ARGENTINE AIRCRAFT ON 8.6.82. PROCEEDED TO RIO DE JANEIRO WITH 6 DEG LIST, & THERE FOUND TO HAVE UNEXPLODED BOMBS ON BOARD. THEY COULD NOT BE DISARMED SO SHE WAS SCUTTLED. (MSD).
