BUILT 1981 BY AST. DE MUREUETA S.A., GUERNICA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LINEAS MARITIMAS DEL CANTABRICO. SANK AFTER STRIKING A FIXED LIGHTAND TAKING IN WATER. VESSEL, RETURNING HOME AFTER PARTICIPATING IN A NATO EXERCISE, WAS WAITING FOR A PILOT. AFTER THE PILOT BOARDED THE VESSEL, IT WAS BLOWN INTO A LIGHTHOUSE DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER. CREW OF 11 RESCUED BY THE PILOT BOAT. VESSEL AS RAISED AND SCRAPPED AT GRENAA. (MSD)
