Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Glengowan is located off the coast of the Falkland Islands at coordinates 51 43.727 S, 61 17.627 W. This oblong underwater wreck is partially submerged and partially drying 1.6 meters above LAT, with a length of 34.8 meters. Historical hydrographic surveys note that the wreck lies off the point southeast of the settlement, oriented with its stern towards the shore and its jib boom pointing seawards just above the water line. One of the ship's lifeboats remains beached nearby in surprisingly good condition.
