Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Georges Le Bail is historically recorded off the coast of Cornwall, England, near St Ives and Godrevy in the Celtic Sea and Atlantic approaches. Official hydrographic survey records state that the wreck was originally located at coordinates 50 12.651 N, 5 28.277 W, initially marked by a green can buoy. Historical UK Hydrographic Office records show that on 24 July 1959, the wreck was lifted by the Trinity House vessel Satellite and successfully relocated into St Ives Harbour, with the original wreck buoy subsequently removed. A modern multibeam sonar survey conducted on 10 December 2010 failed to locate any remaining trace of the obstruction at the site, resulting in a no contact assessment.
