The UK Hydrographic Office wreck record for the GENTRICE located at coordinates 50 26.037 N, 0 54.088 W in the English Channel details its history from being reported sunk on August 24, 1944, through multiple hydrographic surveys up to September 2018. Initially charted as a dangerous wreck and later as an unsafe depth with its exact position approximate, subsequent sonar searches conducted in 1958 by HMS Dalrymple, 1976 by HMS Fox, 2003 by Gardline, and multibeam surveys in 2018 have consistently failed to locate any trace of the obstruction at this position.
