The shipwreck known as FOBUS is an underwater obstruction located in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Germany. The wreck coordinates are 54 33.36 N, 12 33.347 E. Historically identified as a dangerous wreck with protruding masts, the site has been subject to various hydrographic reports and survey updates since 1946. Initial surveying identified the obstruction as a stranded wreck marked by green spar buoys with flashing lights and bell signals. Subsequent hydrographic surveys throughout the 1950s and 1960s amended the classification of the site between a dangerous wreck, a foul area, and submerged structural remains. Following maritime navigational updates in the 1980s and 1990s, the official classification for the FOBUS wreck was updated to dead, and the obstruction was removed from navigational charts. Today, the location remains a point of interest for historical maritime records regarding underwater obstructions in the Baltic region.
