H4465/81 18.11.83 EXAM'D 13.7.82 IN 533620N, 005304E [OGB] USING HYPERFIX [2 LOP]. SWEPT CLEAR AT 15.9, FOUL AT 16.3MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 16.3 IN GEN DEPTH 21MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 6.5MTRS. A SHARP CONTACT, BUT WITH NO DETERMINABLE SHAPE. ABOUT 4MTRS LONG BUT EVIDENCE OF SCATTERED DEBRIS 40MTRS TO THE NW AND DIRECTLY TO THE EAST. ORIENTATION FROM CLOSE SOUNDING APPEARS TO BE 160/340 DEGS. LIES IN AN AREA OF SANDWAVES 3MTRS HIGH. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 74). BR STD. HH100/351/05 12.6.92 DIVED ON. INTACT BOWS LYING ON STBD SIDE. A SHORT DISTANCE AWAY IS THE ENGINE ROOM. HAS TWO LARGE BOILERS AND ENGINE LAID OVER TO PORT. AFT OF ENGINE ROOM WELL BROKEN AND BURIED. SEEMS TO BE THE REMAINS OF A LARGER VESSEL THAN THE FERMAIN.
