Simplified Wreck Survey

UKHO Survey History and Wreck Details for EX-PURNAMA located at coordinates 6 59.608 S, 112 41.988 E in the Java Sea near Indonesia. Initially reported and charted in the 1960s as a dangerous wreck with positional accuracy listed as PA. Subsequent hydrographic surveys and visual inspections by vessels including HMAS Duchess, HMAS Geraldton, and HMAS Moresby between 1972 and 1994 reported the wreck as not visible or no longer visible. The wreck was updated to modern World Geodetic System coordinates on BA chart 975 in 2007. By 2014, following a 2012 hydrographic survey and consultation with the Indonesian Hydrographic Office where no remains were found, the wreck status was amended to dead and removed from local charts.
