Simplified Wreck Survey
The wreck of the vessel ELOUT is located at coordinates 1.0258S, 100.3725E in the waters off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Historically identified as an underwater obstruction, the ELOUT was originally marked by navigational buoys in the 1940s and 1950s. Survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office note that salvage operations took place at the site during the early 1960s. Subsequent maritime surveys conducted in 1977 and 1986 reported both the wreck and the associated mooring buoys as missing. The site is currently classified as dead, and the ELOUT is no longer indicated on modern navigational charts for this region of the Indian Ocean.
