Simplified Wreck Survey

The historic shipwreck known as Elfrida (possibly) is located off the Yorkshire coast in the United Kingdom at coordinates 54 17.879 N, 0 19.386 W. Originally recorded as a definite underwater wreck with a least depth clearance of 15 meters, the site has a complex survey history. While it was initially positioned using Decca navigation data in 1982, subsequent hydrographic surveys in 1997 noted the wreck lies within a fishing area exclusion zone and was not surveyed at that time. A refined position was established in August 2001, but a multibeam sonar survey conducted in May 2016 by the vessel EGS Pioneer failed to locate the structure, leading authorities to amend its status to dead or non-existent.
