Underwater Wreck DERNES Details and Status. The historical wreck DERNES was previously reported at coordinates 48.6833N, 5.4166W located in the English Channel region at a general depth of 55 fathoms. Initial surveys identified the site as a wreckage, later classified as a non-dangerous wreck (NDW). Following extensive hydrographic reviews between 1975 and 1978, the wreck site at 48 41 N, 5 25 W was formally investigated by French charting authorities and subsequently removed from maritime navigation charts. Current official status for the DERNES wreck is listed as dead and deleted from nautical records for this location.
