Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Defender is located at coordinates 50 14.602 N, 3 46.287 W off the coast of Salcombe, Devon, in the English Channel. Historically identified as a wooden trawler, the site was originally recorded in 1948. Subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted by the UK Hydrographic Office, including assessments by HMS Medusa, determined that no wreck currently exists at this position. Following a 1981 survey, the Defender entry was officially deleted from maritime charts and marked as lifted, confirming that the obstruction is no longer present at this location.
