TORPEDOED AND SUNK BY USN SUBMARINE HAWKBILL. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY OSAKA SHOSEN KK. SPLIT IN TWO AFTER BEING HIT BY SIX TORPEDOES. THE US CO CLAIMED TWO SHIPS AFTER TWO CONTACTS DISSAPEARED FROM HIS RADAR SCREEN. THIS WAS LATER PROVEN TO BE WRONG.
