Circumstances of loss
BUILT IN 1919 BY CALEDON SB & ENG CO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MACANDREWS & CO. TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 196 NHP FOR 12 KNOTS. TORPEDOED AND SUNK WHILE IN A HOMEWARD BOUND CONVOY FROM GIBRALTAR. 1 MAN LOST. SOME SURVIVORS WERE RESCUED BY 'LAPWING' ONLY TO LOSE THEIR LIVES WHEN SHE WAS SUNK LATER THAT DAY. (DODS).
