The shipwreck CORSAIRE lies off the coast of Normandy, France, situated within the English Channel. The wreck position is recorded at coordinates 49 48.94 N, 1 28.2 W. Historical hydrographic data indicates the site is located within an explosives dumping ground at a depth of approximately 57 to 60 meters. Previous surveys of the CORSAIRE wreck have reported the least depth as greater than 20 meters. Following extensive searches in the area, the vessel was not located within a 1200-meter radius during 1995 survey efforts. The site is currently classified with restricted commercial status.
