BUILT 1967 BY MITSUI SHIPBUILDING & ENGINEERING CO. LTD., ICHIHARA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOST BY ELSPARTA MARITIMA, S.A. CAUGHT FIRE AFTER AN EXPLOSION IN THE ENGINE ROOM WHILST AT ANCHOR UNDERGOING REPAIR, APPROX 6M OFF KHOR FAKKAN. VESSEL TAKEN IN TOW BY FIRE FIGHTING TUG `GRAY SAMPSON' AT REQUEST OF PORT AUTHORITY & SUNK BY EXPLOSIVES IN DEEP WATER. ALL CREW RESCUED. (MSD)
