6.8.83 BUILT IN 1978. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY EMPRESA NACIONAL ELCANO DE LA MARINE MERCANTE, S.A. PASSAGE JEBEL DHANNA FOR SPAIN. CAUGHT FIRE AND BROKE INTO TWO PARTS. STERN SECTION EXPLODED AND SANK ON 6.8.83. FOR'D SECTION, ABOUT 150MTRS LONG, REMAINED AFLOAT, IT WAS TOWED FURTHER TO SEAWARD TO REDUCE POLLUTION RISKS, AND WAS EVENTUALLY SUNK BY A CONTROLLED EXPLOSION ON 13.8.83. (MSD).
