Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel Carinthia V is located underwater near the coast of Argostoli, Greece, within the Ionian Sea. The official hydrographic coordinates for the obstruction are 38 1.487 N, 20 47.693 E. Historical survey reports indicate the wreck is lying upside down and is partially embedded in the sand up to the boat deck level. Divers previously identified impact damage to the aft end of the keel and the vessel rudders. Following its sinking, the site has been monitored and charted as a Non-Dangerous Wreck (NDW) with a Position Approximate (PA) status. Multiple surveys conducted since 1971 have refined the precise location of the Carinthia V in the waters off Argostoli Harbour.
