Simplified Wreck Survey
The underwater wreck of the steam trawler CAPTAIN is located at coordinates 56 2.767 N, 2 7.027 W in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland. This maritime obstruction was surveyed and positively identified in 2007 by a bell marked CAPTAIN. The wreck sits on the seabed at a general depth of 65 meters with a least echo sounder depth of 62.6 meters. The vessel measures 60 meters in length and 5 meters in width with a structural height of 3.5 meters. The wreck is intact and lies on the seabed oriented at a 145/325 degree heading with a list to the starboard side. Survey records indicate a minor scour of 1 meter deep around the structure. The site remains a significant underwater feature for local navigation and maritime records.
