The shipwreck Branksome Chine is located underwater off the coast of Beachy Head in the English Channel at coordinates 50 41.203 N, 0 22.837 E. Sunk during World War 1, historical records indicate it originally rested 6 miles east-southeast of Beachy Head, though subsequent hydrographic surveys by the UK Hydrographic Office and survey vessels like HMS Beagle could not locate the wreck using side-scan sonar or area sweeps, resulting in its status being amended to dead and not found by modern multibeam datasets with general seabed depths around 23 meters.
