Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck of the SS Brandresch is a historical underwater obstruction located in the North Sea off the German coast. Originally reported sunk in 27 meters of water approximately 4 miles northwest of the Wester Till buoy, historical hydrographic records indicate significant updates to its status. While early reports placed the wreck at 54 0.9 N, 8 1.7 E, subsequent maritime surveys conducted in 1921 identified the position as 54 00.54 N, 08 01.42 E with a depth clearance of 12 meters or more, rendering it no longer a danger to surface navigation. Following official hydrographic reviews in 1953, the wreck was classified as dead and removed from official nautical charts. The site is currently documented as a non-dangerous, inactive underwater feature in the German Bight region of the North Sea.
