VESSEL, BUILT 1910 BY GREENOCK & GRANGEMOUTH DOCKYARD CO.. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY JAMES CURRIE & CO.. ON PASSAGE FROM VILLA REAL TO OBAN & LEITH. WAS TORPEDOED BY GERMAN SUBMARINE U-37 WHILE IN CONVOY IN THE ATLANTIC. ALL 23 CREW LOST, TOGETHER WITH 30 SURVIVORS FROM SS COURLAND, SUNK THE PREVIOUS DAY. (LLOYDS WW2SL, DODS, & AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES).
