Simplified Wreck Survey
The Blue Crusader shipwreck is an underwater obstruction located at coordinates 59 3.206 N, 2 3.619 W. This historic trawler wreck sits upright on the seabed and has been officially identified through dive surveys, multibeam sonar imaging, and historical research. The submerged vessel measures 40.8 meters in length, 8.8 meters in width, and 6.7 meters in height, resting with its bow facing east-northeast. Originally charted at a shallower depth, the least known depth over the wreck is confirmed at 63.2 meters in a general surrounding water depth of 70.1 meters. The site features a 0.9-meter-deep scour around the hull. Although initially found largely intact, subsequent diver investigations confirmed that the Blue Crusader has sustained significant structural damage, likely caused by commercial fishing trawls, resulting in missing wheelhouse sections, hull breaches on both port and starboard sides, and remaining blue paint visible beneath marine growth and fishing nets.
