BUILT IN 1919. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS ELDER DEMPSTER LINES LTD. TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 369NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY BY RICHARDSONS, WESTGARTH & CO LTD, HULL. (SIBI) LAID DOWN AS WAR RAVEN. BUILT BY IRVINES SB & DD CO, HARTLEPOOL. PASSAGE LIVERPOOL FOR TAKORADI & PORT HARCOURT. RAN SHORE ON RINGFAD POINT. (WARTIME STANDARD SHIPS VOL.3) OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY AFRICAN STEAMSHIP COMPANY. DEVELOPED ENGINE DEFECT IN THICK FOG, STRAYED OFF COURSE AND STEAMED INTO KILLOUGH BAY. RAN AGROUND ON RINGFAD POINT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN. REFLOATING FAILED & CARGO INCLUDING LORRIES AND AIRCRAFT UNLOADED. FOLLOWING SPRING BUNKER COAL WAS JETTISONNED IN FURTHER ATTEMPT TO REFLOAT BUT VESSEL BROKE HER BACK IN GALE AND WAS SCRAPPED WHERE SHE LAY. (SHIPWRECKS OF THE ULSTER COAST).
