The shipwreck of the vessel named BAYOU is located at coordinates 7 42.267 N, 58 16.033 W off the coast of South America near Trinidad and Paramaribo. Historical hydrographic survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office document the site, noting that two masts were originally visible 3 feet above the water following its sinking during World War II. Subsequent Royal Navy surveys, including work by HMS Vidal, swept the underwater obstruction and confirmed its depth, leading to classifications as a dangerous wreck and a swept obstruction at depths ranging from 7 fathoms 4 feet up to 14 meters.
