ONE BOILER HAS TIPPED UP AT THE SIDE OF THE WK WHILST ANOTHER IS COVERED OVER. A FRENCH MANUFACTURED SOUNDING MACHINE HAS BEEN RECOVERED, MADE BY HENRY LAPOUTE - PARIS, SUGGESTING THAT THIS IS A FRENCH VESSEL. 'AUGUST CONSEIL' WAS LOST VERY CLOSE TO THIS POSITION. BUILT IN 1912 BY ATEL & CH DE FRANCE, DUNKIRK. TWO BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 279NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE CARDIFF FOR LE HAVRE. STOPPED BY U-29 AND CREW FORCED TO ABANDON. WAS SUNK BY EXPLOSIVE SCUTTLING CHARGES PLACED BELOW DECKS. (SIBI).
