Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel ARENQUE is located off the coast of Guyana at coordinates 6 51.992 N, 58 8.775 W. Originally identified as a dangerous wreck near Georgetown, the site was historically marked by a green conical buoy until its removal in 1989. Following hydrographic surveys conducted between 2017 and 2018 using multibeam echosounder data, no physical obstruction was detected at these coordinates. Consequently, the wreck of the ARENQUE is officially classified as dead and is no longer considered a navigational hazard in these waters.
