Simplified Wreck Survey

Historical underwater obstruction report located at coordinates 38 59.9 S, 61 54.8 W off the coast of Argentina near Buenos Aires. The site was originally identified as an anchor with 11 shackles of cable reported in 1975, initially noted as being laid out in a 265-degree direction from the anchorage or 2 miles from the Chica beacon. Following a survey operation in May 1976, the anchor and cable shackles were successfully recovered from the seabed. This wreck or underwater obstruction file is officially classified as dead and no longer poses a navigational hazard at these coordinates.
