A LARGE TRAWL NET IS ATTACHED TO STERN AND IS TIGHTLY SPIRALLED GIVING A FALSE IMPRESSION OF BEING A MAST. THIS RISES SOME 7MTRS ABOVE STBD SIDE. NOT POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED BUT THOUGHT POSSIBLY TO BE WK OF SS KILCOAN - DIMENSIONS ARE SIMILAR. (K HURLEY, 9.8.92). HH100/351/06 22.3.93 NOW THOUGHT POSSIBLY TO BE WK OF LINDA BLANCHE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY RICHAR HUGHES & CO, (LIVERPOOL), THOMAS J TIERNEY, MANAGER. DEPARTED FROM PARTINGTON, NEAR MANCHESTER, VIA THE MANCHESTER SHIP CANAL ON 5.12.1940. BOUND FOR DUBLIN, CARGO COAL. DISAPPEARED EN ROUTE. BODIES OF THE CREW WASHED ASHORE AT PRESTATYN AND RHYL. POSTED MISSING 8.1.1941. PROBABLY SUNK BY MINE.
