UK Hydrographic Office wreck record for the AMANDA J, located off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland in the North Sea at coordinates 57 14.488 N, 1 44.542 W. Originally reported sunk on October 22, 1990, at a general depth of 69 meters with an initial least depth of 55 meters. A subsequent bathymetric examination on March 15, 2010, found no contact with the wreck or any other obstructions in the vicinity. Consequently, the wreck record was marked as dead and officially deleted in June 2010.

Circumstances of loss

REPORTED TAKING IN WATER IN ENGINE ROOM AND NETS FAST TO THE BOTTOM. WAS ABANDONED BY CREW AND LATER SANK DURING AN ATTEMPT TO TOW HER TO SHALLOW WATER.
