Circumstances of loss

BUILT BY W H POTTER AND SONS, LIVERPOOL IN 1885. CONSTRUCTED OF IRON. BELONGING TO THE MERSEY DOCKS AND HARBOUR BOARD. THE ALARM WAS ON HER STATION WHEN SHE WAS RUN INTO BY THE SS PACUARE OF THE ELDER DEMPSTER LINE. SHE WAS STRUCK ON THE POST SIDE AND SANK. ALL THE CREW WERE SAVED BY THE PROMPT LAUNCHING OF THE LIFEBOAT.
