Simplified Wreck Survey

The Ailsa is a historic shipwreck located off the coast of Northern Ireland in the North Channel, near the coastline at coordinates 54 51.15 N, 5 44.293 W. First discovered by divers in 1965, the site features a well-broken-up structure lying in shallow water at a general depth of 3 meters. Part of the wreck is partially visible on the shore above the mean high water mark. The seabed consists of rock and kelp with no scour present, and the site can be safely dived at any state of the tide. Plots close inshore inside a danger line among underwater rocks. Updated geodetic position data was supplied in August 2003.
